Project objectives

Bogdanchyk’s parents first came to us in 2016, when the boy was diagnosed with endogenous uveitis of both eyes of unknown etiology, complicated cataract of both eyes. Since then, he has undergone 6 operations: removed adhesions, vitreous, lens replacement. But the vision returned, then fell again and the cause of the constant recurrence of the disease could not be found.
And so, in October 2019, the cause was found and no less difficult diagnosis was made – juvenile idiopathic rheumatoid arthritis.
Many drugs have been prescribed to treat the disease, but the most important is Humira. This drug falls under the state program of free medicines for seriously ill children diagnosed with JRA.

In the first months, the child was provided with injections, but since the beginning of quarantine in the country, the state has stopped providing the necessary drugs and parents are forced to buy them at their own expense. Therefore, for the sake of successful further treatment and prevention of complications (currently stable remission of both eyes and knees) it is extremely important to continue treatment with Humira (necessary – 40mg / 0.4ml manufacturer Abbwe Biotechnology GmbH, Germany).
Its cost is UAH 11,000 per month, and you need to be treated for at least another year. Bogdanchyk’s parents are again forced to ask for help, as they themselves lack funds, a lot of drugs, and still need to treat the eyes in parallel (drops, pills, vitamins, injections, glasses, tests, examinations).
We ask you to join and support Bogdanchyk!
